The Westminster Road Runners will conduct the 27th
annual running of the Main Street Mile at 7:00 pm on
Wednesday, April 16.
The race will consist of two sections. Runners in
section 1 must be 11 or older and capable of running
the distance in less than 10 minutes. This section
will be timed, and awards will be made to top male and
female overall, masters, and age group finishers
(11-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59,
60-69, 70+). There will be no duplication of
awards.
Section 2 will be a non-timed fun run for runners who
do not qualify for section 1 or who do not wish to run
in section 1. It will start 10 minutes after the
start of section 1. All runners 10 and under will
receive
a medal at the end of the race.
There is NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION for this race, and
entries will be capped at 700. Go to
http://www.carr.org/~wrrc for a race form. Race
forms can be mailed prior to April 1 or can be
submitted on-line until April 14 or until 700 entries
are reached, whichever comes first. The entry fee is
$7, whether the application is done by mail or
on-line.
Numbers and t-shirts must be obtained at the
Westminster Fire Hall, near the finish line, prior to
the race. Anyone who arrives after 6:30 pm does so at
his/her own peril, since the starting line is over a
mile away and is uphill from the Fire Hall.
All runners can construct ice cream sundaes after the
race at the Fire Hall. Awards will be presented at
approximately 8 pm.
