Frederick Half-Marathon Sells Out For First Time
Running Festival has 3,500 participants
Baltimore, MD - Corrigan Sports Enterprises (CSE) announced today that the 2008 Half-Marathon at the CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield Frederick Running Festival has sold out for the first time. A waiting list for entry into the half-marathon has begun and people will be entered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Overall registration is up 140 percent compared to this time last year. All the other races are close to selling out and to date the event has a record 3,500 participants. The sixth annual CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield Frederick Running Festival will take place May 3-4 and features fives races: marathon, half-marathon, four-person relay, The Gazette 5k and the new kids' fun run. There will also be a Health and Fitness Expo that will serve as the place for registration and packet pick-up. Everything, including the start and finish of each race, will take place at the Frederick Fairgrounds, which marks a new location for the event.
